Seeing Things Differently!

Transforming Belfast will bring together 30 young people from two youth groups from east and west Belfast — one on either side of the new Glider transport route — to create a hi-tech Augmented Reality (AR) travel experience.

Participants will learn new skills in digital arts, leadership and good relations.  The project will include a community consultation, a 2 hour guided tour on the Glider, digital arts sessions, a collaboration day at the Ulster Transport Museum and a celebration event at Belfast City Hall.

Transforming Belfast will see a series of Augmented Reality trigger apps being developed to enhance the experience of the Glider journey for passengers and help break down barriers and challenge perceptions of the different communities they travel through.

Augmented Reality triggers printed on posters or shown on a screen in the Glider can be activated on any mobile device to show a 3D animated 360-degree movie of the current journey in a futuristic transport setting and showing vital information on points of interest in the wider community.

Transforming Belfast kicks off in August 2019 ending with the launch and celebration in March 2020
