See the discussion below!

WheelWorks have always been focused on working with young people to build positive relations and breakdown barriers across the diverse communities within Northern Ireland. Good Relation projects form a huge part of WheelWorks delivery, and we enjoy reflecting with the young people, community groups, our partners and funders on the impact young people experience by engaging with our innovative and interactive arts activities.

As part of our ongoing reflections, we organised an event for Good Relations week 2021 bringing together a guest panel for an open conversation considering ‘what is good relations in the context of youth arts programming?’. Additionally, the guest speakers explored ‘how can art and digital technology facilitate innovative ways of building connections across communities?’

Brian William Bryne (PhD Researcher: interests in participatory practice using immersive technologies)

Meadhbh McIlgorm (Good Relations Project Coordinator, WheelWorks)

Wheelworks is a youth arts charity, since 1995, we have been working together with young people across Northern Ireland. We exist to forge new creative and inclusive spaces that empower and inspire young people and communities to express what matters to them.

We support social, educational, and cultural development through accessible programmes, providing a creative fusion of traditional and digital art forms, harnessing the arts for learning and change and giving young people a voice. Emphasis is placed on creativity, reachability, and innovation.
