What is aRTOMATRON?
Artomaton is a cutting-edge digital arts programme combining robotics and visual art to explore creative technology.
Taking place at the WheelWorks Tech Studio, the project brings together emerging artists and technical facilitators to design interactive robotic drawing installations. Through collaborative prototyping, skill-building in Python and hardware, and public presentation, Artomaton encourages cross-disciplinary learning and innovation in digital creativity.
Project goals
Artomaton aims to upskill artists in coding and robotics, foster collaboration between creative and technical practitioners, and push the boundaries of digital art-making.
The project’s goal is to create engaging, interactive installations that respond to audience input, while also developing sustainable practices and learnings that can be shared across the arts sector through public showcases and online exhibitions.
