Future Visions
Future Visions, a project supported by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB), is a three-year programme delivered in schools across the Mid Ulster District Council area.
Over the last year, the Future Vision Programme has worked with 13 schools across Mid Ulster, engaging over 300 participants through creative, arts-led workshops. Young people explored digital arts, technology, storytelling, AI, Minecraft, green screen and filmmaking while working alongside pupils from other schools. The project helped participants build confidence, develop new creative skills and make meaningful connections through shared learning and collaboration.

- School Principal“I got to work with people I don’t normally work with and now we’re better friends.”
“If someone was stuck, we all helped”
“I really liked making the film because we got to write the script and I made new friends.

Breaking the ice
Launch event
We launched Future Visions at Ranfurly House, welcoming members of the Peace Team, WheelWorks staff, Sentinus representatives, and representatives from participating schools. During the event, we introduced the project’s goals and activities, giving attendees hands-on experiences with badge-making, green screen photo booths, and icebreaker games.
Attendees experienced the core of the Future Visions first hand through the SAME HERE! game, which created a visible web connecting everyone by their interests likes and hobbies. The activity reflected the project’s focus on collaboration, shared creativity, and building a network of ideas to shape a positive future together.
Bringing the project to life
The launch featured inspiring talks from guest speakers, including Councilman John McNamee, WheelWorks Chairperson Mairead Duffy, and WheelWorks CEO Farah Chowdhury, who shared their insights on community collaboration, creativity, and the impact of initiatives like Future Visions in empowering young people and fostering connections.
