(How to look cool &
connect with people online)

OPEN CALL

As part of a lockdown-required revision to our Future Focus programme Wheelworks is calling to our artists to propose and produce some ‘how to…’ resource videos for teenagers to help them get creative in the digital world and share their thoughts and feelings while in lockdown.

This is a Good Relations project, and it is hoped that these exercises will increase digital skills and confidence to connect online and therefore help to reduce isolation and enhance mental wellbeing in this difficult time.

These videos should be short and snappy (max length 7mins).

Confused?

Here’s some ideas we thought might fit the bill…

  • Making custom filters and stickers for Instagram

  • How to present yourself better in online videos

  • 3 ways to make steaming more interesting…

  • Music jams when your unable to be in the same room..

We’re open to any art form, platform or media but your pitch should consider the following;

  • Access: is the app/software/platform FREE and easily accessible using various devices (mobile, apple, android, etc)

  • Relevance: Will it be interesting to the audience (we will be consulting teenagers when selecting what gets commissioned)

  • Production: are you able to translate your idea into a well-produced and edited video that’s enjoyable to watch and can signpost to further info as required?

  • Good Relations: remember to include some element of the Good relations narrative such as building connections, skills and confidence in your pitch.

The videos will be public, hosted on Wheelwork's website, YouTube channel and social media and shared with youth groups participating in project.

Fee

There is a flat rate fee of £200 per video payable via invoice on completion and presentation of the final finished product.
